The Making of "Mumford", our Halloween Mummy...

Once again, our scarecrow is made of trash. We stuffed second hand clothes with newspaper and grocery bags to make his infrastructure.

The core of his head is made of a hard recycled gallon sized water bottle covered in paper bags and tape.

Then comes the fun part...wrapping him with scraps of white fabric like chenille, lace, old curtains, canvas strips and a little bit of rolled gauze to finish him off.
Isn't he handsome?!

Then Willa, my daughter, and I decided to make a jar of paper mache and vintage fabric eyeballs to top off the creepy window scene.

New Fall Items & Off to Brimfield (again!)

Summer is coming to a close and I wanna cry...but this is not southern California (with it's endless summers full of flowers and beach days) SO I am embracing fall and all it has to offer.  You would think I would be used to it since I am an East Coast girl and all.

On that note, here are some of our new fall items...including two new jewelry collections, one is called Sabi Collection.  The artist takes found pieces of driftwood and transforms them into striking necklaces, each one is unique and comes with a story and a sweet little pouch.  The other new jewelry line is by our resident artists,  mother and daughter team, Michal & Ivy. These sweet necklaces incorporate remnant fabric, vintage keys, beads, mixed chains and more.

I just brought out some super old African metal sculptures that I picked up at the Brimfield Antique Show last month. Also just hung some new Love sign art that I made with reclaimed wood and metals.

We are off to the Brimfield Antique Show again next week.  Just buying this time, no selling for us this time, can't wait!  Also next week or the week after we will be bringing in some fall planters with unique fall plants potted in reclaimed containers with our organic mechanics potting soil...so check back.

Brimfield 2012...overwhelming and so worth it!

Just returned from our first Brimfield Antique Show in Brimfield, Massachusetts.  It is the largest outdoor antique show in the US with over 50 years under it's belt.  There are over 6,000 vendors and it takes place over the course of 6 days.  There are 21 fields and each field is approx 3-4 acres!  It was amazing. We had a booth in Crystal Brook thanks to our new friend Stephanie of Magnolia Lane.  There was so much to see and so many cool people that we met inside and outside our booth.  We roughed it camping and begging to use friends showers when need be, but we loved it all the while.  We will be back there again in July.  If you can make it stop by our booth at the New England Motel field in the Pavillion Building on the corner spot P4.  We are so excited to do it all over again (and do a little more shopping for ourselves and the store).
